Reebok is a small seaside village on a hill above the Indian Ocean, between Mossel Bay and George. This is what it is like, what there is to do and how to find it.
Reebok is one of a string of quiet beachside villages east of Mossel Bay, on the Garden Route in the Western Cape.
It lies between Klein Brak River (Kleinbrak) and Great Brak River, and falls under the Mossel Bay municipality, so in practice it works like a suburb of the town. You will see the name written both as Reebok and Rheebok, and addresses here often include Kleinbrak as well.
The village sits on a hill above the sea, which is why so many houses have a view across the bay. Mossel Bay is about 10 minutes away by car, Hartenbos is closer still, and George Airport is roughly 20 km in the other direction.
Reebok's beach runs for kilometres and is rarely busy. It is a beach for walking and beachcombing rather than swimming, with rock pools to explore along the shore and the sound of the waves never far away.
Just west of Reebok, the Klein Brak River reaches the sea. Its beach and lagoon are the local choice for a swim, with calmer water than the open beach. It is close enough to reach in a few minutes from anywhere in the village.
Because Reebok looks straight out over the bay, it is one of the recognised land-based whale-watching spots in the Mossel Bay area. Whale season runs from about June to November. Our guide to whale watching in Mossel Bay covers the season, the species and where to stand.
Reebok itself is residential and unhurried, which is the point. For restaurants, coffee shops and shopping, Hartenbos and Mossel Bay are minutes away. Mossel Bay also has the Cape St Blaize lighthouse at the Point, the harbour with its boat trips, and two golf courses with sea views.
Game reserves, the zipline, sandboarding and diving are all within a short drive. See our list of things to do near Reebok or the 3-day Mossel Bay itinerary.
From the N2 between George and Mossel Bay, take exit 401 and follow the road through Fraaiuitsig, the neighbouring hillside area whose name means "beautiful view", into Reebok. Coming from George Airport, the drive is about 20 km. Full directions are in our guide to getting here from George Airport.

Reebok is a seaside village in the Western Cape, on the Garden Route between Klein Brak River and Great Brak River. It is part of the Mossel Bay municipality, about 10 minutes from Mossel Bay and about 20 km from George Airport.
The open beach is better for walking and beachcombing than for swimming. For a swim, use the Reebok tidal pool or the beach and lagoon at Klein Brak River, just to the west.
Both spellings are used for the same village. Addresses often add Kleinbrak or Klein Brak River as well.
